Learning should be an adventure and at Baby Steps it is!
Nothing is more engaging or lasting than hands on learning experiences and a school that ecourages children to explore, analyize and respect the world they live in. Where do clouds come from? Are snails born will shells? Do squirls eat fruit? Children are bursting with questions and the teachers at Baby Steps encourage the children to think criticially to creative developmentally appropirate questions like, "How do you say hello in Japanese?"
Child directed learning isn't all just play. At Baby Steps our teachers are skilled magicians, carefully and respectfully weaving together academic and social skills practice and development into each adventure by:
- Encouraging the children to find their own answers and helping them develop critical thinking skills
- documenting our explorations through children's field journals, photographs, art projects, computer and library research, field trips and experiments
- Using presschool standards as a guide to insure that the children's learning is developmentally appropriate and inclusive
